8. 活祭生父 huójì shēngfù - Last Wednesday, a young man staged a live ancestral worship ceremony on the streets of Wuhan in hopes to raise funds for his father's medical expenses. What is unconventional about this particular ancestral worship ceremony is that instead of worshipping the deceased according to Chinese traditions, the subject of worship in this case is the man's father, still alive and well sitting just at the other end of the worship table (see photo above). According to interviews conducted by Chinese reporters, many of the pedestrians who caught sight of this ceremony were deeply offended and shocked.
