Love for Chinese orphans not conspiracy
How many orphans in China? There has been no clear answer for a long time. According to the statistics from "Chinese Child Welfare Policy Report in 2011", the number of orphans in China increased from 570,000 in 2005 to 712,000 in 2010, an increase of 24% in five years.
Recently, the news "American women adopted two girls at a distance of 3 years who turned out to be sisters" about Chinese abandoned orphans adoption by overseas, which caused the attention of the mass. The fortunes of Chinese orphans which are adopted by International adoption are on a drastic change, but there still need a way to change the fortune of all orphans.
People at same outset still have different fates: life is like buying lottery, win or not, you never know.
August 2011, Shuming a 9-year-old girl met Vivian at the first time. Vivian is also a girl who has the same age with Shuming and comes from Toronto. 15 years ago, the two girls had the same outset of destiny which they were abandoned in Jiujiang, Jiangxi province. However, Vivian and her families have planned to travel around in China after 15 years. A foreign media wants to interview Shumin and pays her 2,000 yuan as her school fee. A random chance brings the two girls together and shows them how strength the fate power is.
Vivian is living in Toronto for years with her father an international investment consulter, her mother a management staff in college graduated from Yale and Oxford and her old sister who was still adopted from China. She can have a wonderful vacation in islands or skiing. She and her sister have a neutral attitude maybe a little conservative to alcohol, drugs and sex.
Shuming is living in rural area, the only assets in her house are a sewing machine, two desks and TV set with an unclear screen. She has never gone to urban area in Jiujiang even there is only one hour's drive away from her home. Her father can earn 70 yuan a day in construction site in Shanghai which is the only income in her family. Her mother has schizophrenia after taking care of her mother-in-law alone for a long time. Family members are not able to afford Shuming continually goes to school and that is the reason why she accepted the foreign media's interview earning 2,000 yuan to change her fate. Her family has "no enough money to give her a better life".
Vivian realized her adopted status for a long time but never feels sorry for it. "Why should I feel angry? I just accept the recent life. They are my parents, and it's my home," she said. "But Shuming's adoptive parents never want to mention this issue, if they could afford her school fee, they would have not exposed their scar to other person."
Destiny gives the unrelated two girls a chance to recall their same outset. Girls like Vivian adopted to be an American have a totally opposite fate with those orphans who stay in rural area. Shuming who is living in the outset should strive hundreds times harder than those kind of lucky girls like Vivian.
Hans is a common American without luxury residential, no BMW or Benz, but he adopted a Chinese girl called Jon. Jon is a disabled 7 years old girl whose height even shorter than a 4-year-old girl's. Hans' planned to adopt a healthy child but after wait a long time they decided to accept Jon, and ordered a surgery for her. After the surgery the girl became more and more happy and started to play with other children.
Hans is living in a small house and driving an old car which needs him to fix all by himself. It cost him $ 30,000 for adoption fee and they still need a huge amount of money to pay for the surgery, even not mention the expense to grow up the girl and send her to the college. The entire spending they should pay for the girl is enough for them to afford a big house beside lake and drive Benz in their entire life. They save money for a strange girl, not only save by themselves but also by their son.
Some people think the reason why Americans adopt children in China is because they have so much money and cannot spend them out. However, the overseas Chinese who lives in U.S. for decades know the situation is not as easy as those people think. Majority of adoption families are combined by common person. The reason why they adopt is they love children and hope orphans can have love from parents, sisters and brothers and also can have good education and healthily grow up. "Giving children better a future is our future," an American couple said.
Ideas of parents in China and overseas are different. Most of Chinese parents desire children to thank for their adoption and hope children can feed them back when they grow up, it is related to the Chinese traditional ideas. The western adoptive parents regard feeding children as happiness and the children are gifts and wishes for them. Adoptive parents and the children have no contractual relations. Maybe they are more generous to be parents than Chinese people. Of course, this kind of generosity need material basis. People needn't to concern about medical treatment or pension issues in developed countries. Without much pressure in life people would like to think more in spiritual level.
