Luo Baoming appointed as Hainan Party chief
Luo Baoming was appointed as secretary of the Hainan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Saturday.

Luo, born in October 1952, was selected for the post at the first plenary meeting of the sixth CPC Hainan Provincial Committee held in Haikou.
A native of Tianjin Municipality in north China, Luo holds a master's degree in history. He joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 1971, spending a great deal of time working in his hometown.
His political career in Hainan began in July 2001, when he was appointed vice secretary of Hainan's CPC Provincial Committee.
